Anti-snap locks are designed to prevent lock snapping, which is a method of breaking into a lock by applying force to the cylinder until it snaps. Anti-snap locks have a special mechanism that prevents the cylinder from breaking when force is applied, making them more secure than traditional locks. These locks are commonly used on doors considered at a higher risk of break-ins, such as front and back doors.

A deadbolt lock is a type of lock commonly used to enhance security on doors. It is called a “deadbolt” because the bolt is not spring-loaded and must be manually engaged to lock or unlock the door.

A standard deadbolt lock consists of two main components: the lock body, which is installed in the door, and the bolt, which extends into the door frame when locked. In a single-cylinder deadbolt, a key is used to operate the lock from the outside, while a thumb turn on the inside allows for easy locking and unlocking. In contrast, a double-cylinder deadbolt requires a key on both sides, providing more security but making it less convenient in emergencies.

When the deadbolt is extended, it enters into a reinforced strike plate on the door frame, which helps resist forced entry. Deadbolt locks are generally more secure than traditional spring-bolt locks because they do not rely on a spring mechanism, making it harder to bypass the lock by force.

Deadbolts come in various types, with the most common being single-cylinder and double-cylinder designs. Single-cylinder deadbolts are more convenient for everyday use, while double-cylinder deadbolts offer increased security but can be less practical, especially in situations where quick exit is needed.

Because of their strength and reliability, deadbolts are frequently used on entry doors such as front and back doors, as well as other entry points requiring enhanced security.
